EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is the unified language standard utilized for all commerce transaction communication.  EDI supports the sending and receiving of information based on a standard format and industry specific.  It can then be customized to other type of format as required.  EDI can also be used via VAN, transport unit, or ports.

EDI solution supports Port Logistic services in sending and receiving transaction data automatically between EDI system and customer’s internal management system.  EDI system ensures the safety and security of data exchange for all partners and customers.

In order to meet the EDI processing needs between shipping lines and ports, as well as the needs for expansion capabilities to further process data and information, N.O.II has the pleasure to introduce DiCentral products to serve EDI processing needs, as the same time expand EDI integrated solution suitable for variety of different formats.  We provide Data Center Model (Port EDI Service), which incorporate all EDI transaction processing and management.

Workstations are periodically scheduled to access database (Oracle, SQL, DB2…), convert information into appropriate data format and sent to main server.  Main server performs two main functions which is to communicate with port internal system to classify and handle file modules, and process EDI transaction for the sending and receiving from ports to shipping lines, and vice versa.

Feature of solution

I. DiConnect Admin and Lite

  1. Create and verify validity of authentication (protocol AS2), warning alert when authentication expiring.
  2. Management of partner certification.
  3. Monitoring for issues during processing and send alert notification email.
  4. Support receiving of MDN (Message Disposition Notification) messages with AS2 protocol for both synchronous and asynchronous methods.  Warning notification issued if MDN is not received.
  5. Warning alert if file size is 0 bytes.
  6. One scheduling tool for all connection (DiConnect Lite version).
  7. MDN Management: search and download/return email to partners (DiConnection Lite version).
  8. View all transaction history and status.
  9. Support basic and advanced AS2 protocol: allows for resume of sent files if sent failed (partner software must support resume mode), automatically send new authentication (partner software must supporting receiving of new authentication feature).

II. DiTranslator (EDI Transaction processing Tool)

  1. Receive and process EDI data.

  2. Create EDI data via data import (using TRN format) from other application.

  5. Set order for data processing tasks.  Example: Read the file-> call DiUnite to switch to TRN file -> translate into EDI.

  2. Data link management: used to create mapping between the two types of format. 

  3. Set rules for converting data formats.

  4. Formats supported include:

  • TRN format of DiTranslator

  • Gather SQL table via ODBC

IV. DiUnite (Configuration Management)

  1. Management of the partner information (divided into 2 categories as hub and vendor partners): add a new partner, delete and edit partner information.

  2. Display jobs in job folder of DiUnite:

  • Place unique Map ID to identify map

  • Verify map metafile format

      3. Set map execution information. Example: Map A is for which port? Or which carrier? What EDI transaction is being executed?

      4. Schedule automatic execution of existing maps:

  • Schedule map for one time execution

  • ­Schedule map execution cycle (every minute, every hour, every day, every week)

      5. Record log of scheduling function.

      6. Record log information of DiUnite.
